Chronic constipation (also mis spelt as cronic constipation) is a common digestive disorder that affects people of all ages.
It is common in children but is prevalent in the advanced age. The elderly are more troubled with this problem.
If the general symptoms of constipation, the difficulty in passing the
stool, painful bowel movement, hard stools etc. are present for 3
months or longer, it can be termed as chronic-constipation.
This condition may be accompanied by other symptoms such as stomach bloating, feeling of fullness, intestinal gas and stomach pain. Bad breath, coated tongue, chronic fatigue, obesity are sometimes present too.
The person may have nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, lower back pain, which can add to the discomforts of longtime constipation.
Removing the above mentioned causes can help deal with the problem. You may need to make changes in the lifestyle and food habits for treating chronic condition. It may take some time too.
This problem did not happen overnight and you may need some time to get relief from constipation.
But as soon as you start making changes in your food habits, eating habits, you can see some positive changes.
Laxatives are not the answer for longtime constipation. If you become dependent on laxatives, it can make matters worse.
It is necessary to get to the root causes of your constipation problem and not just treat the symptoms of constipation or just get rid of the symptoms.
