If you have heartburn indigestion, you may want to know 'how to make chamomile tea'. There are many health benefits of Chamomile. Giving relief for heartburn is one of them.

Chamomile tea is a aromatic herbal tea which helps in reducing digestive problems. It reduces heartburn and nausea too. There is no caffeine in chamomile tea.

Chamomile tea is made with dried chamomile flowers. You can buy loose dried chamomile. Chamomile teabags are also available. You may use whatever you find convenient to make tea.


How to make chamomile tea


Ingredients for making 1 cup chamomile tea

  • Hot water - 1 cup
  • Dried Loose chamomile petals - 2 teaspoons or 1 tea bag
  • Honey or sugar(optional) - add according to taste.
  • Making chamomile tea

    1. Add chamomile petals or the teabag to a small pot.
    2. Add hot water over the petals/teabag and cover the pot.
    3. Keep for about 4-5 minutes.
    4. Remove teabag or Strain the mixture to remove the petals.
    5. Add honey or sugar if you wish. Stir and drink hot.

    Depending on the severity of heartburn indigestion, or other digestive problem, drink 2 or 3 times a day.

    Tips

  • Add hot water but not boiling water. Boiling water can reduce or destroy the therapetic properties from chamomile.
  • Add sweetener only if you wish. Even without sweetener, there is a slight sweetness in tea.
  • You may also mix peppermint or lemongrass along with chamomile. It tastes good too.
