Burping is also referred to as belching, ructus or eructation. Many people suffer from this symptom of indigestion. I was a burper too, long back when I suffered from acid indigestion.
It may also be caused because of aerophagia. Whatever the reason, belching constantaly or excessively makes one uncomfortable. When you know the causes, you can stop constant belching.
Babies burp. You may know that babies need to be burped after a feed. Otherwise the baby feels uncomfortable.
The baby-burping is done by holding the baby near the shoulder, pressing her tummy on the shoulder after a feed. The baby may also expel a little curdled milk when it burps. But that is ok. When babies burp, it is not necessarily a sign of indigestion.
Grownups may belch after a meal. It is a sign of your stomach being full. It is a sign that tells you to stop eating.
In some societies belching after a meal is considered as completion of a meal and showing appreciation of the food and the cook. But in most places, Belching loudly is not viewed as such and is considered impolite and indecent.
Belching can be one of the symptoms of indigestion. The belching may happen immediately after a meal or at any other time. Even when stomach is empty, you may belch.
Belching may also bring up a sour taste in your mouth. It may give you a kind of sick feeling. Once the air is released, it may make you feel better when you belch.
Continuous or constant Belching or excessive belching is kind of irritating. It also makes you feel awkward when others around you notice your frequent or continuous belching and question you about it.
I know because I had this problem. I used to burp even when the
stomach was empty and also when the stomach was full. My nephews used to
refer to me as
'burping aunty'. But not any more. I have cured myself of this irritating problem.
Belching/burping sound is different for different people.
it can be Uuuuuuuuuuuuubbbbbbbb or
The last one perhaps says ,' the grub you ate caused it'.
My brother in law burps so loudly that the nephews and nieces call him 'lion uncle'. He doesn't burp, he roars. He loves to entertain the kids by burping on demand.
